The motorway will be partially closed over the coming few days.

Motorists using the M5 in North Somerset this week have been told to expect some disruption due to roadworks.

The northbound entry sliproad is due to be closed tomorrow night (Tuesday) from 8pm-6am on Wednesday morning so resurfacing can be carried out.

The motorway’s northbound carriageway at junction 20 (Clevedon) will also be shut overnight on Wednesday for 10 hours, starting from 8pm.

The closure, between the exit and entry sliproads, is being enforced by Highways England to allow for resurfacing work to be carried out.

Highways England says diversion signs will be put up to signpost drivers where to go.

A Highways England spokesman said any unexpected bad weather however might affect its planned works schedule.

He added: “All our improvement work is carried out with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible.”
