Long Ashton’s village hall was filled with colour from flamboyant and fragrant displays of flowers, fruits and vegetables during the horticultural society’s show.
Delicious cakes, homemade jars of jam, jellies and preserves, and homemade wines and brews, photographs and paintings were all exhibited at the event.
It was Long Ashton Horticultural Society’s 92nd show, and there were 161 classes to enter with 22 trophies handed out to deserving winners.
There were plenty of refreshments and cakes on offer to keep visitors happy throughout the day, and many businesses donated prizes for the raffle.
Winners included Bridget Mackwood who won The Evans Cup for the best rose exhibit, Anne Watts who was awarded the society’s Challenge Cup for the best fuschia exhibit and Mary Magro, who won The Kearns Cup for her flower arrangement exhibit.
