A PORTISHEAD marine trekked 100 miles across Devon and Dorset to raise money for charity.

James Reddrop, aged 32, and eight of his friends from the Royal Marines carried a 40kg log along the Jurassic coast for two days and managed to raise more than £4,000.

James, also know as Reggie, took on the challenge to raise money for the British Heart Foundation as his two-year-old daughter Grace suffers from a heart defect.

Reggie would like to thank Handy Labels for designing the posters for the appeal, Commando Fit for supporting the event and Gent Transport who donated a large amount to the cause.

The money will go to the foundation’s Mending Broken Hearts appeal.
