A Portishead leisure centre welcomed a famous face as it launched a new charity campaign.

Parish Wharf Leisure Centre in Harbour Road enlisted the help of Bristol City goalkeeper Frank Fielding to raise awareness of its gymathon campaign which will aim to raise money for Guide Dogs For The Blind.

The gymathon will be held at the centre on November 14 when teams of four people of all abilities are urged to spare 20 minutes, five minutes each, to exercise by taking part in a variety of simple and fun gym activities.

All sponsorship money raised from the event will go towards the £50,000 that is required to support the life of just one of the 4,500 guide dogs that help visually impaired adults and children across the country.
