Staff in Clevedon launched the district’s latest Reading Well Books on Prescription scheme.

There are now 25 books available which have been recommended by health experts and people living with the condition.

The titles provide information on the condition, practical advice, personal accounts and suggestions of shared therapeutic activities.

Becky Pollard, North Somerset Council’s director of public health, said: “Public health is pleased to have supported the purchase of these books.

“Dementia presents a huge challenge to society, both now and increasingly in the future.”

The books can be reserved at www.librarieswest.org.uk or by library staff.
