A Land Rover has been dumped in a village road after its driver collided with a nearby car.

Police were called to reports of a Land Rover abandoned in Glebe Road, in Long Ashton, at around 9am this morning (Monday).

The vehicle had 'significant damage' after colliding with a car, and recovery has been arranged to remove the Land Rover from the road.

A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Constabulary said: "We were called at about 9am today to reports of a vehicle which appears to have been abandoned in Glebe Road in Long Ashton.

"The Land Rover had significant damage and no number plate on the rear of the vehicle.

"It appears the vehicle had crashed into a car nearby and the occupants of the Land Rover left the scene, abandoning the vehicle.

"Because the Land Rover was partially blocking the road, recovery has been arranged.

"Police enquiries into the incident continue."
