A village hub has been chosen to benefit from a year’s worth of Co-op community funding.

Long Ashton Community Centre (LACC), in Keedwell Hill, announced the news this month on social media.

The funding will go towards providing further outdoor gym equipment for people who use Peel Park in Long Ashton.

A spokesman from the centre said: "LACC has been chosen to receive the next round of Co-op local community funding, which started on October 27.

"Co-op members will be able to nominate the centre as their local cause when they buy selected own-brand products and services, and one per cent of money spent in-store goes towards local causes in the community.

"Please remember to nominate LACC when shopping at Co-op."

The village has a community Co-op store, in Weston Road, which opens daily from 7am-10pm.
