Inspirational children from Africa won the hearts of people in Portishead this week, delighting crowds with uplifting musical performances.
The Jolaurabi School Choir, from Kenya, performed shows at Gordano School and Somerset Hall on Thursday, to raise vital cash.
The shows were organised by Tanya Marriott, owner of SoleLution in High Street, to raise money for the school and the 401 Foundation.
The amount raised is still being tallied, but Tanya believes around £5,000 will be shared between the causes.
She said: “It was an amazing night and a very emotional day. I’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who helped me make it happen.
“I fell in love with the children at the Jolaurabi School when I visited the school in January to fit shoes which had been donated through the shop.
“Their 2018 tour is raising funds for their education and I wanted Portishead to be a part of that.”
