A PORTISHEAD resident will travel through seven countries later this month, in a sponsored drive to raise funds for charity.
John Nutt will leave his Avon Way home on Tuesday to embark on a 1,550 mile journey to Belarus, to raise money for Cancer Research and MacMillan Cancer Support.
He will drive his old red camper van from England through France, Belgium, Holland, Germany and Poland to get to his destination of Rogachev in Belarus. He expects the journey to take him five days.
The 60-year-old said: “Most people I know have had their lives affected by cancer in some way and because of this I feel I want to try and help both the research and support charities. I’m a friendly chap and have got to know a lot of people in Portishead, I am hoping they will all sponsor me to help these worthy causes.”
