A Clevedon youngster had her hair chopped in support of a family friend who was diagnosed with leukaemia.
Nine-year-old Jessica Weeks has had long locks cut off and donated to the Little Princess Trust.
She went under the scissors in front of her fellow students at Yeo Moor Primary School, in Kennaway Road, on July 23
The youngster also made the decision to raise money for the Starlight Ward at Bristol Children’s Hospital where her friend is receiving treatment.
Mum Stephanie said she was ‘really touched’ by her daughter’s motives.
She added: “She said she did not need all her hair. It was all her own idea and it is incredibly sweet.
“The school have been very supportive of her and she has so far raised £215 as well as £169.54 from pupils and parents on the day.”
