Jane Duffus talked about her book, The Women Who Built Bristol 1184 -2018.

An author and journalist spoke about her latest book in Clevedon.

Jane Duffus shared a selection of stories from The Women Who Built Bristol 1184-2018 to a packed audience at the Clevedon Community Bookshop, in Copse Road.

She gave a lively account of some very remarkable and inspiring Bristol women, including less well-known figures such as pin makers, factory workers and workhouse inmates to the more recognisable women such as suffragettes and doctors.

The Women Who Built Bristol is Jane’s third book.

She is working on volume two which is due to be published in the autumn.

Jane said: “The book does not claim to be perfect but is a compendium of 250 wonderful women which we hope inspire you.”
