A budding photographer has beaten scores of fellow competitors in a Rotary contest.

Jack Stevenson, aged 10, has been crowned young photographer of the year in the local competition.

Jack, who attends Flax Bourton Primary School, impressed the judges with his keen eye for photography.

The theme for this year’s annual competition was ‘our world is beautiful’.

The youngster’s entry will now go forward to the Rotary’s district competition where Jack will be competing with winners from 60 other rotary clubs.

If he makes it to the next stage, he will be up against winners from around the country.

Chris Bales, senior vice president of the Rotary Club of Nailsea and Backwell, presented Jack with his award.

The club would like to wish Jack success in the next stage of the competition.
