A group of Portishead schoolgirls were inspired to help raise money for a national homeless charity after one of them met a Big Issue seller in
Bristol.

Abi, Imogen, Abbie, Sophie and Charlotte organised a cake sale to do something positive to help the homeless. They recruited family and friends to make some tasty delights for the sale and also made posters to advertise the event to their class mates at St Peter’s Primary School.

As a result they raised £126 for Shelter, a charity which offers help to people across England who are either homeless or living in bad housing.
