PORTISHEAD’S Folk Hall was filled with colour and scent at the horticultural society’s spring show.

Daffodils, tulips, hyacinths and crocus vied for attention over floral art displays and pot plants.

Mouth-watering cookery, youngsters’ art and even samples of handwriting were packed into another successful show on Saturday, in which members of the community from small children to senior citizens took part.

Society member John Tovey said: “The event brought lots of colour and cheer to the day and we are very pleased the gardeners of Portishead made such an effort. We would like to thank all entrants and sponsors of the show.”
