RESCUE demonstrations and live music were put on to entertain crowds during a lifeboat day in Clevedon.
Organised to raise funds for the town’s pier and the Portishead and Bristol Lifeboat Trust, the event on Sunday took a dramatic twist when rescue crews were called to attend a real incident which saw a Clevedon Sailing Club dinghy become stricken on rocks due to the high wind.
The event, which was also attended by the police helicopter, The Matthew replica ship and coastguard volunteers, included demonstrations on the water and a mock rescue.
As well as enjoying live music, visitors to the pier could also browse numerous stalls set up on the seafront landmark.
