In pictures: Christmas light celebrations

FESTIVE cheer was delivered to many North Somerset families as Christmas lights were turned on in the district.

In Clevedon, a Christmas fair featuring stalls, rides and sideshows in Queens Square entertained the crowds throughout Saturday afternoon.

Organised by community group, Clevedon Pride, the event also featured live entertainment from dancers, singers and musicians.

Later in the day, festive illuminations in the town centre, funded by Clevedon Pride and Clevedon Town Council, were switched on by Daphne Fowler who stars in the TV show Eggheads and Clevedon Town Council chairman Jon Middleton.

Also on Saturday, the Christmas lights around Pill’s shopping precinct were turned on during a festive event which featured performances by Crockerne Primary School Choir, the Pill Owls choir, Pill Community Choir and the village’s own Morris dance group.
