PUBLISHED: 12:00 24 July 2015

Plans to install a new defibrillator in Clevedon moved a step closer after £700 was raised at a cream tea event at the Hawthorns in Elton Road.

The Clevedon Lions Club is targeting £2,800 to raise money for a seventh defibrillator to be installed. The total currently stands at £1,567.

It is hoped that the new defibrillator will be available 24 hours a day, joining the units at the pier and Queens Square.

The location of the new equipment is still under discussion but donations can be made at Rowlands Pharmacy in Old Street or by emailing
