Hundreds raised for famine victims

MORE than �1,000 has been raised for the East African famine appeal by the Rotary Club of Clevedon Yeo.

Club members stood outside Morrisons on Saturday and Sunday collecting donations from shoppers.

President Chris Morris said: “Yet again the Clevedon public have proved how tremendously generous they are.

“Counting is still taking place but the final figure will be well in excess of �1,000. A fantastic gesture to those suffering in extreme conditions.”
