A coffee morning held at a church in Clevedon has raised hundreds of pounds for North Somerset Community Hospital.

St Mary’s Church in Castle Road hosted the event and offered guests a tour of the bell tower in April.

A total of £500 was collected on the day and has now been handed over to the League of Friends of North Somerset Community Hospital.

Geraldine Symes, chairman of the St Mary’s Church flower arrangers, said: “We were so very pleased to present a cheque for £500 to Diana Brown from the Friends of North Somerset Community Hospital.

“Our thanks are extended to all who supported the event.”

The hospital’s league of friends has raised thousands of pounds over the years to improve facilities and upgrade equipment at the site, including donating £24,000 for a new musculoskeletal scanner earlier this year.
