MEMBERS of nine churches in Portishead came together for a special service during National Week of Christian Unity.
Organised by Gordano Valley Church, the service at Gordano School on January 22 was attended by 450 adults and children and included an orchestra as well as a 36-strong choir drawn from the different churches. ‘Best done together’ was the theme of the service, which was aimed at encouraging people to make a difference in the Portishead community.
A collection for Woodspring Deposit Guarantee Board, which provides bonds in lieu of rent deposits for homeless people in North Somerset, raised �1,216.
