"IT is great to see the skatepark already being used in the Lake Grounds.
"Nearly twenty years it has taken to obtain the above for the young people of the town.
"The young people were enjoying themselves tremendously on a sunny day with their parents watching.
"One young man came up from Cornwall to take part.
"Congratulations to the residents, the individuals of the Wheels Project, and the Independent Party councillors who have worked so hard to obtain this park for the young people of this town.
"Thank you to Maverick Industries who built this park.
"It is a shame that for many years the previous town councillors were not interested in this important recreational benefit for our town.
"The official opening will be on Sunday, July 9, of this year."
