Hospice shops appeal for donations

HOSPICE shops in North Somerset are appealing for people to donate their unwanted items to them over the winter period.

St Peter’s Hospice shops, including those in Clevedon, Nailsea, Portishead and Yatton, raise more than 1.8million a year through the sale of clothes, home wares, books, CDs, DVDs and bric-a-brac - all donated by the people of North Somerset and Bristol.

Sue Cox, manager of the Portishead shop in High Street said: “With less than 60 days to go until Christmas, this is the perfect time to make space for all those presents. If everyone took one or two items to their nearest St Peter’s Hospice shop you could help provide vital funds to enable the Hospice to care for people in the area with terminal illnesses.”

Visit your local shop to make a donation or call the free collection hot line on 0800 5830015. Shoppers can also buy goods at the charity’s auction site at www.stpetersonlineshop.co.uk
