POP star training, catwalk modelling, cheerleading and street dance are some of the new activities available at Portishead Youth Centre throughout the school summer holidays.

Footlights Performance Academy and Anne Marie’s School of Funk have teamed up with the Harbour Road centre to offer youngsters a chance to try out new hobbies. Sessions run every Tuesday from 8.45-10.30am for under 10s and from 10.15am to noon for those aged 10 and over.

All sessions are supervised by qualified instructors and cost �5 per person.

The coffee bar will be open for snacks and drinks throughout.

Also during the holidays, skate and scooter enthusiasts can enjoy a temporary skatepark at the centre. Ramps will be in place on the outdoor court on various days and times throughout August.

Tomorrow (Thurs) they will be available from 4-9pm, on August 8 9am-1pm, August 15 8am-4pm, August 20 and August 30 2-9pm.
