QUEEN Victoria visited Clevedon as part of an event to celebrate the town’s history.
Organised by Clevedon and District Archaeology, visitors to Queens Square had the chance to learn about the area’s heritage while taking part in activities including creating a Roman mosaic, reconstructing archaeological pots and making flour in the prehistoric way. A Roman soldier was also on hand to teach Roman marching.
The event was put on as part of the Festival of British Archaeology, which runs until Sunday and sees events being put on across the UK to celebrate our national heritage.
