GHOSTS, ghouls, witches and wizards will have a chance to win scores of prizes at an exciting Halloween event.
Police officers in Portishead are teaming up with the town’s youth centre to provide a Halloween treasure hunt aimed at giving youngsters an alternative to trick or treating.
There are two hunts on October 31, both starting and finishing at the Harbour Road centre.
They are fancy dress events, with the first, for under 11s, taking place between 4-7pm. Children will need an accompanying adult.
The second hunt, for which torches are advisable, runs from 6.30-9pm and is for those aged 12 and over.
PCSO Dawn Tremlett said: “Providing fun events like this helps young people stay safe at this time of year.”
Officers have also been taking part in assemblies at Portishead schools providing youngsters with safety tips about trick or treating and reminding them of the Halloween street code.
