Gym club starts freerunning classes

TRICKS and flips can be learnt at a Nailsea gym club where freerunning and parkour classes have begun.
Freerunning and parkour originate from participants performing acrobatic moves in an urban environment, on walls, buildings and many other surfaces.
They have now become popular among young people across the world and Gemini Gymnastic Club in Nailsea has been keen to follow this.
Every Monday evening the Blackfriars Road gym now holds classes for youngsters in school years six and above, who can use the club’s air track, sprung floor and equipment to hone their moves.
The programme has been devised by British Gymnastics, which has given coaches the training needed to safely teach freerunning and parkour.
For more details about the classes, which cost £3.50 each and run from 7-8.30pm, call club coach Carolyn Devereux on 01934 832744.
