GUIDES from Clevedon and Nailsea sampled a slice of the Olympic atmosphere during a trip to the Paralympics.
Members of a number of North Somerset troops joined peers from across the country when they travelled to the Olympic Park in Stratford to watch athletics, swimming, cycling and football.
The patriotic youngsters were all kitted out in Union Jack neckerchiefs and flags to cheer on the home competitors. Hannah, a guide at 1st Clevedon West, said: “‘I really enjoyed my day exploring the Olympic Park.
“I particularly liked the Veladrome, seeing a world record broken and a gold medal presented.
“It was great fun and I found it very interesting finding out about the paralympic athletes.”
