THE cold snap experienced in December has prompted many requests for new grit bins to be installed on North Somerset roads.
Clevedon Town Council and its members have been contacted by residents hoping for the bins to be introduced at more points around the town in preparation for the next bought of icy weather to hit the area.
At a meeting of the council’s transport and highways committee on February 16, it was confirmed new containers have already been installed in Cambridge Road and Nortons Wood Lane.
Members agreed to introduce new bins in Pyne Point and Careys Close and also agreed to look at requests for bins in Careys Close and the one-way section of Hill Road.
