DELIGHTED sixth formers from Backwell donated £5,512 to charity after a successful school production.

Students from Backwell School raised the money by putting on the popular musical Grease for four nights.

The show included a cast of 50 with a full orchestra and the talented performers played to a packed house each night.

Students also directed and produced the show and made all the costumes and scenery themselves.

Jon Nunes, deputy headteacher said “I am so proud of what these students have achieved, and glad that they chose to support this very worthwhile local charity.”

A cheque was given to Wallace and Gromit’s Grand Appeal.
