PEOPLE living in and around Portishead are being invited to find out more about how to save and generate energy.

Gordano Community Energy Show takes place on Saturday at Somerset Hall in The Precinct between 10am-1pm.

There will be numerous stalls highlighting the many ways to save energy and money, as well as information about solar power, wind energy and biomass. The show is being organised by the community co-operative Low Carbon Gordano,

The group will be launching an Energy Advice Service and will be demonstrating a thermal imaging camera for detecting heat loss from buildings.

The results of detailed assessments recently carried out on buildings in the area and financed by the Local Energy Assessment Fund (LEAF) will also be on display.

Jon Gething of Low Carbon Gordano said: “Through the LEAF project we are finding out what we need to do individually and as a community to cut our energy costs. The show will give everyone a chance to find out how we can take control of our energy use and safeguard ourselves against future energy shocks.”

North Somerset MP Dr Liam Fox will be visiting the show.
