MORE than 5,000 has been raised by keen golfers in Clevedon.
A charity day was held at Clevedon Golf Club on May 13, organised by the League of Friends of Clevedon Hospital.
As well as teams taking part in the sporting contest, money was also raised by encouraging businesses to sponsor holes and through an auction for a holiday in Portugal, which eventually went for 500.
The League of Friends of Clevedon Hospital raise money to help fund equipment, as well as items such as furniture and toiletry packs for patients, which are not paid for by the NHS.
Most recently the group used 1,600 to buy a mobile ECG (electrocardiogram) machine, meaning some patients can have assessments on the activity of their hearts carried out at home rather than at hospital.
