A charity golf day raised more than £1,000, which will be shared between a trio of worthy causes.

Gordano Breakfast Rotary Club hosted the competition at Bristol and Clifton Golf Club on September 19, with teams vying for the crown in aid of charity.

The event raised more than £1,000, which will be shared between St Peter's Hospice, The Jessie May Trust and Ebenezer Clinic Swaziland.

The hospice offers palliative care to people with life-limiting diseases, while The Jessie May Trust provides similar services to children.

The clinic provides primary care and is the group's international charity.

Past president Jim Packer said: "I would like to thank all of the teams that entered and made the day such a great success, especially winners Handelsbanken Portishead."
