A shop with a difference is opening in Nailsea town centre.

Instead of encouraging people to buy a gift, it is asking shoppers to give a gift.

The Give A Gift Christmas shop, in Crown Glass Place, is being run by Churches Together in Nailsea and District.

Volunteers will man one of the shopping centre’s empty units from November 26-30 and collect donations of toys, toiletries, food and gifts.

The donations will then be distributed to families in need, through the children’s centre and Foodbank.

The shop is open from 11.30am-1pm and 3-4.30pm from November 26-29 and from 2-8pm on the final day.

Donations can include food, toys and toiletries and they must all be new and unwrapped.

There will also be a nativity photo booth and free activities for families including Christmas crafts.

Foodbank helps to provide people in crisis with a three-day supply of food and toiletries.
