GINORMOUS vegetables were on show during the 4th annual heaviest onion competition at a Clevedon pub.
The Royal Oak in Copse Road saw a record number of entries for this year’s contest and it was eventually won by newcomer Eric Holdsworth with an onion weighing in at 3lb 1oz.
The competition is organised by the Jolly Rogers (aka the Jolly Royal Oak Giant Edible Records Society) and next year will include a competition for the longest runner bean.
