Garden party raises hundreds

A CLEVEDON garden party resulted in more than 1,500 being raised for good causes.

The Rotary Club of Clevedon Yeo held the annual event at Vine Cottage in Nortons Wood Lane with more than 100 guests donning their finery for afternoon tea and music.

A raffle raised 1,500, which will be shared between the community group Clevedon Pride and the children’s charity Springboard Opportunity Group in Clevedon.

Club president Chris Morris said: “With luck being on our side with the weather we enjoyed a great afternoon of socialising and entertainment, raising some much-needed funds for worthwhile local causes.”

The Rotary Club of Clevedon Yeo meets at the Walton Park Hotel in Wellington Terrace on Wednesday evenings. For more details call Richard Johnson on 01275 873475 or Steve Molloy on 01934 834412.
