The Friends of Crockerne School (FoCS) hosted a summer fair last week.

Youngsters enjoyed farm-themed games, tombolas and raffles as well as snail and duck races.

The rain did not dampen spirits as the band Twice Dailies entertained the crowds and children were free to run around the field and play among hay bales.

The event attracted not just families and students to the Pill school, in Westward Drive, but also members of the community who came down for a fun afternoon to support the FoCS’ fundraising efforts.

FoCS member Celia Roberts said: “The event raised about £900. We will be asking the children for ideas about what we should spend the money on.”
