Fresh housing development plan for Wrington

A developer hopes to build more than two dozen homes on a site where it has already applied to build almost 60 houses.

Redcliffe Homes wants to build off Coxs Green, in Wrington. It applied to build 59 homes in 2016 and this scheme will be decided at a planning appeal, after North Somerset Council took too long to decide.

However, Redcliffe has now submitted a second application for the site for 28 homes.

Although the scheme is located on the edge of the village, Redcliffe says the development will be sustainable and the village’s main amenities will still be accessible.

It plans to build a footpath to connect the northern edge of the site with the centre of the village should the development be allowed.

In its design and access statement, Redcliffe said: “This application is for a sensitively designed residential development that will provide a new sustainable development.”
