A solicitors firm has given free wills in return for donations to Clevedon Pier.

Star Legal, based in Alexandra Road, has given 20 people a will for donating to the pier’s maintenance fund.

More than £2,000 was donated to the fund which goes towards the pier’s annual £200,000 running cost, none of which is provided by any external funding source.

Pier director Tom Vaughan said: “We are so grateful to Susan Fairless for allocating so much time to this initiative.

“It means that everyone involved now has the certainty provided by a will and the pier has received a significant contribution to our maintenance fund which helps preserve the pier for generations to come.

“Given the local interest in the offer, we hope to repeat a free wills offer in the autumn of next year.”
