FIRST aid training is being offered to Portishead residents for free.
The Lions Club of Portishead is hosting two training courses, supplied by Southwest Medical Services, at The Royal Inn in Pier Road on June 20 and July 13.
A club spokesman said: “Over 100,000 people die every year from sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) which can affect both young and old. Being confident and knowing what to do with a person who is critically unwell can really make a big difference.”
Each three-hour course will cover resuscitation (CPR), the recovery position, control of bleeding, choking and dealing with an unconscious person.
Bookings are being taken now and are allocated on a first-come first-served basis. To book a place or for more information visit www.freecpr.co.uk or call 01275 541124.
