PORTISHEAD Senior Citizens’ Forum travelled back in time to celebrate its 10th anniversary.

Members of the group, which campaigns for the rights and interests of older people in the town, enjoyed afternoon tea at the retail and farming museum Oakham Treasures in Portbury. The group, which has around 100 members, meets at the Folk Hall in Portishead High Street once a month when members are encouraged to raise any issues that concern them.

Over the past 10 years, the forum has made representations on a variety of issues including council tax, public toilets, the safety of older people at the Cabstand junction and parking in Harbour Road.

The monthly meetings include a guest speaker and a programme of outings is also scheduled each year.
