A DANCE, drama and singing school in North Somerset has been relaunched under a new name.

Members of Footlights Performance Academy, formerly named Tingill Musical Youth Productions, celebrated the introduction of the new name with a piece of cake at their latest class.

The academy holds lessons for children aged 18 months right up to adults at venues in Flax Bourton, Backwell, Nailsea and Portishead.

Footlights Performance Academy now comprises Footlights Theatre Academy, Footlights Dance Academy and Euphoria Show Choir.

Director Tina Kelly said: “The name Tingill was made up of my name and my business partner Gill’s name.

“For the past eight years we have built up a fantastic reputation but as we expand to a wider market those who don’t know us personally are confused by the name.

“Gill has now moved on to pursue other interests.”
