HUNDREDS-OF-POUNDS were raised during a charity football tournament in Clevedon.
Organised by the town’s YMCA, the event was held at the home ground of Clevedon United to raise cash toward a youth mission to Turkey next month.
The event was a huge success, with 13 teams taking part in the contest and younger visitors enjoying activities and games.
The teams were sorted into two leagues, with the top two from each battling it out in the semi-final before the winners took part in the final, which was won by Southmead A.
A total of 470 was raised during the day and this will help fund a trip to Turkey that will see youngsters from the town working with YMCA volunteers on a street children project.
