A day of football matches and live music is planned to remember former members of a Nailsea club who have died.

Nailsea United Football Club (FC) is holding a legends day to celebrate the lives of their friends and team mates.

The legends day will take place at Grove Sports Centre, in St Mary’s Grove, on May 27.

A club spokesman said: “The club has been holding this event for several years and it is an opportunity for old friends to come together to reminisce about old times and also to remember members of the club who are sadly no longer with us.

“The games will commence at 1pm with a minute’s silence in memory of Dave Williams, Derek Hucker, John Hobbs and James Colman who all gave so much to the club and are missed greatly.”

Records kept by former club secretary John Hobbs will also be displayed.
