Members of the Pill and District Gardening Club showed off their best blooms and prize-winning posies at the event held at St George's Hall in Easton-in-Gordano.

More than 200 entries of fruit, vegetables and flowers were judged by horticultural expert, Angela Dill, who was overwhelmed by the standard of exhibits this year.

She said: "The standard of the exhibits was a credit to the club bearing in mind the impact of the hot weather over the past month."

Prizes were presented by Mike Winter to winners including Annette Knowles who won several awards such as best in show, and the president's choice award.

He said: "Our congratulations go to those worthy winners in each section, and our grateful thanks go to all 27 entrants, because without you we would not have a show.

"On behalf of the community we thank those who came along to support your gardening club, who knows, next year we may be looking at your produce."
