MORE than £1,000 has been donated to Mencap by Portishead Floral Art Society.
A cheque was handed over to Gill Stokes from the charity which works with people with a learning disability at the group’s recent AGM.
Over the past year, society members have raised £2,350 for good causes through a number of events including lunches, teas, floral arrangement sales and plant sales.
The total amount has been split between Mencap and Meningitis UK.
