With the weather getting back to normal for June why not make the most of it and enjoy some of the activities taking place across the area this weekend.

- Famous pooches will be showcasing their talents in Long Ashton this weekend.

Dogfest will return to Ashton Court tomorrow (Saturday) and Sunday which will open from 9.30am-5pm on both days. Activities including doggy yoga, dog display teams and the big dog dig will all take place.

- A Wraxall zoo will celebrate 20 years since it first opened its doors this weekend.

Noah's Ark Zoo Farm, in Clevedon Road, will host a birthday party on Saturday from 10.30am-5pm, with outdoor games, face painting and more taking place.

- Two primary schools will host their annual fairs on Saturday.

Nailsea's Hannah More and Grove Junior School, in Whiteoak Way, will run its fair from noon to 2pm, while Yatton Primary Schools' carnival will take place from 2.15-5.15pm.

The fancy dress procession will set off from Cherry Grove at 2.45pm, before a fair at its grounds, in High Street.

- Villagers will showcase their finest flowers, fruit and vegetables on Sunday.

The inaugural Tickenham open gardens day will be taking place from 11am-4pm where 10 homes in Ten homes in Clevedon Road, Old Lane, Church Lane and Jacklands Bridge will open their doors to guests.

There will be refreshments, a programme and parking available at the village hall, in Clevedon Road, and money raised will go to charities Alive and Brown Rock Woodland Project. Entry, priced £1-3.50 with under-fives free, includes entry into all 10 gardens.

- A charity which supports dozens of North Somerset children will host a fundraiser on Sunday.

The Jack Hazeldine Foundation will hold a charity family fun sports day from 2pm at Clevedon Cricket Club, in Dial Hill.
