A bank holiday weekend is on the cards and the weather forecast is brilliant, so here are some of the activities you can enjoy in the glorious sunshine.

- A Wraxall zoo will host photography composition workshops to celebrate its 20th year.

Noah's Ark Zoo Farm, in Clevedon Road, will focus on conservation, education and research, with specialist talks from 10am-3pm today (Friday) to Monday.

- An award-winning West End show will be staged in Tickenham.

The drama group will perform Company at the hall in Clevedon Road on Friday and Saturday at 7pm.

Portishead LidoPortishead Lido

- A swimming pool which was saved from closure 10 years ago will host an open day on Saturday.

Portishead Pool, in Esplanade Road, will be open from 9am-5pm.

People will be able to take a dip, enquire about volunteering or trust membership, get a peek behind the scenes and sunbathe on the terraces. Entry is free.

- A popular music festival returns this weekend.

The Frythival festival is taking place at Nailsea and Tickenham Football Club, in Fryth Way, tomorrow (Saturday) from noon to 11pm.

Activities include live music, a barbecue, a bar, face painting, a children's disco and cakes. To reserve tickets, email frythtival@hotmail.com

- Clevedon Pier celebrates its 150th birthday this weekend, with a range of activities taking place.

A community archive exhibition will go up on Saturday on the pier, in Beach Road. The exhibition will be open to the public from 10am-4.30pm.

Clevedon Brass will perform on the pier at 2pm on Sunday, while a birthday party will take place the following day from noon to 6pm. There will live music, dancing, crafts and the archives will be on show.

Finally, a sunset party will mark the end of the pier's 150th birthday celebrations on Monday at 7pm. Tickets, priced £10-12, are available from www.clevedonpier.co.uk or from the Toll House.

There will be live music and dance from Planet Boogie followed by fireworks from FireMagic.
