Five things to do in North Somerset this weekend

A beer festival, sports taster days and a bird exhibit will be opened by a British Olympic legend this weekend. Take a look at a selection of activities you can enjoy.
- Top quality beers will be served in Nailsea tonight (Friday).
Nailsea United Football Club is hosting Westend Weekend beer and cider festival at the Grove Sports Centre, in St Mary's Grove, until Sunday. The money raised from the event will pay for cardiac screening for young sports men and women.
The festival is open from 6pm to midnight on Friday, from noon to midnight on Saturday and from noon to 6pm on Sunday. Tickets in advance are £10.
- Nailsea model railway club is holding an exhibition at Nailsea School, in Mizzymead Road, on Saturday and Sunday.
The exhibition runs from 10.30am-5pm on day one and 10am-4pm on day two.
Entrance is £2-6.
- An Olympic hero will open an exhibit at a Wraxall zoo on Saturday.
Eddie 'The Eagle' Edwards will launch Noah's Ark Zoo Farm wings of wonder flying display and specially-designed birds of prey enclosure.
An opening ceremony will take place at 12.30pm, followed by the display's launch on the flying field at 2.30pm. Tickets, priced £13.50-42.75, are available at www.noahsarkzoofarm.co.uk or on 01275 852606.
- People can receive free tennis sessions on Saturday.
Portishead Tennis Club, in Esplanade Road, will host an open day at 2pm.
People will be able to use the facilities, and there will also be children's activities.
- Youngsters will get a taste of rural life at a countryside event in Tickenham.
Pass It On Young Sports will hold a taster day at Jackland Fishing Lakes, Jacklands Bridge, on Sunday from 10am-4pm.
Children can take part in sports including air rifle and clay pigeon shooting, bushcraft, fishing and archery.
