YOUNGSTERS in Portishead can learn to swim this summer with the help of qualified Swim Academy teachers.

Parish Wharf Leisure Centre in Portishead is offering crash-course swimming lessons throughout school summer holidays in an attempt to reduce long waiting lists for after-school tuition.

Five-day crash-courses are being offered at the Harbour Road pool. There are also intensive training courses to help youngsters gain confidence in the water and improve their swimming techniques.

DC Leisure contract manager
Keith Evans said: “With the increased population in Portishead and the
growing number of youngsters
wanting to learn to swim, launching crash-courses throughout the school holidays is an ideal way for us to
provide a learn-to-swim opportunity for about 150 or more children.”

The 30-minute lessons run from 8.30am on Monday to Friday starting July 25. To enrol and find out more call 01275 848494 or email ellendavis@
