Firefighters tackle blaze

FIREFIGHTERS had to force entry into a house this morning (Mon) when neighbours dialled 999 after seeing smoke coming from inside.

Three engines turned up to the blaze at 9.38 at the two storey terrace in Combeside, Backwell.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus tackled the fire in the first floor of the house, which was unoccupied at the time.

A bedroom was seriously damaged and there was smoke damage to the rest of the first floor.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
